INCONE60 WP3 Partner meeting
On the 12th of February 2019 in the Administration of Seaside Regional Park there took place the WP3 partner meeting of project INCONE60 – Inland Blue Transport Connector E60. The project is realized within the framework of Interreg South Baltic Programme 2014-2020 and it is co-financed by European Regional Development Fund.
Eleven participants took part in the second joint partner meeting. There were representatives of all regular partners of the INCONE60 project, and two representatives of Seaside Regional park and one representative of Šventoji Tourism Association.
During the meeting, issues related to Workpackage 3: transport economics and market analysis were discussed.
Ramūnas Povilanskas, director of EUC Baltic Office (PP2) presented INCONE60 WP3 - tasks, deliverables, activities and Operational Scenario for the Main Study:
• Deliverable 3.1: Analysis of local ports and their impact or regional economy. The analysis will cover issues such as the current situation of local ports, the potential of local port infrastructure and their functions, the economic impact of local ports on the surrounding region, cooperation with local authorities, impact on the local labour market.
• Deliverable 3.2: Analysis of local ports as development centres. The analysis will cover issues such as the development of the current capacity and functions of local ports, strengthening of fisheries and mariculture, improvement of local ports accessibility from the hinterland and identification of the necessary investments.
• Deliverable 3.3: Analysis of transborder cooperation of local ports. The analysis will cover issues like cross-border passenger and freight transport, cross-border cooperation of local ports - current status and prospects, opportunities for cross-border cooperation and legal conditions.
Participants of the meeting had an opportunity to visit Šventoji sea port during which Kęstutis Oginskas, Lithuanian journalist, editor, sailor, leader of company ŠVENTOSIOS TURIZMO asociacija guided the visitors. The entrance, depth, aquatoria, territory, surrounding, quay was observed and development – restoration possibilities were discussed.
